Smart phones with screens 5.5 "and above
The main reason, in my case (and in the case of many others) - dimensions. The higher the screen size, the greater the size of the device, everything is logical. Of course, man is a being who gets used to everything, it is difficult to argue with: a half years ago I could not even imagine that in good faith will be used as the main unit a smartphone with a screen 5.5 ", and now I use nothing - quite happy . I'm used to. But if we recall the stages of growth diagonal screen, I still, even now, distinctly remember the line between really comfortable diagonal and a diagonal, which I used to - it is five inches. Smartphones with a diagonal of more than 5 'now occupy the segment of the most powerful and productive devices, and if you want to have a machine with a better camera, a better screen and "iron" in general - will have to get used to. All that was with screens up to 5 "I personally looked comfortable, does not require getting used to, but the size of five inches and above - is addictive.
The second reason - the final loss of the majority of devices some originality in design. It would seem that by increasing the diagonal screen new smartphones must be very different from each other in appearance, for large housing leave room for any of the design around the screen. In fact, the situation is exactly the reverse - in the device with a large screen diagonal manufacturer tries to minimize the space around the display (that is, make the minimum thickness of the frame and margins at the top and bottom), in the end it turns out that smartphones with diagonals of 5.7 - 6 inches more similar to each other especially if we are talking about the front panel, most of which it takes a huge screen.
Finally, one is not the most obvious reason - the developers did not have time (or do not want?) To optimize the interfaces with the same speed as the rising diagonal. Remember the first smartphones based on operating system Android - HTC Hero, Nexus and others - net of icons 4 × 4 or 4 × 5, the application menu, and all these things. And now take some new Samsung and HTC - what has changed in the interface and logic of the menu along with the growth of the diagonals with 3.2 '' (HTC Hero) to 5.1 '' (Samsung Galaxy S6)? The answer is - no-thing. Yes, the grid of icons on the Home screen, some envelopes become 4 × 6 or, at the very lavish, 5 × 6, but that's about it. At the same time control the smartphone fingers comfortably on the HTC Hero, and interfaces (and the operating systems themselves, by the way) are developing in all directions except for this - to optimize working space and its relevance to the physical size of the screen. It's strange but true, no one believes that the interface on the device with the "ogromenny" display to be built and configured differently than on a screen with a diagonal of 3.5 ". In fact, since then nothing has changed and I am afraid that with the further growth of the diagonals of these changes also will not be.
What do you think about smart phones with large screen diagonals, dear readers? Will the diagonals of the race or after a short time manufacturers will return to the compact models?
